A reliable camping stove is the heart of every trip – it boils water for tea and coffee, cooks breakfast and keeps dinner going when the charcoal is not ready yet. Here is how to choose the right stove and gas canister for your trips in the UAE.
Browse all camping gas stoves.
Not every canister fits every stove. Check the connection type in the product details before you buy – cassette-type canisters, screw-thread canisters and refillable cylinders with a regulator all connect differently. Pick the right gas canisters and, for cylinder stoves, a matching regulator and hose.
Auto-ignition (piezo) saves you from searching for a lighter, but always keep a backup fire lighter. In the desert the wind is the biggest enemy of a gas flame: use the stove behind the car or a wind shield, and choose a stable base on sand.
Look for a stove with a carry case or bag, a sturdy body and easy cleaning. Store gas canisters out of direct sun – never leave them inside a hot car in the UAE summer.
Add outdoor cookware, a tea kettle and a dallah – or go for charcoal with our BBQ grills. For a full packing list, read our desert camping essentials checklist on the Al Ghafa blog.
